How long will my Windows last ?
Taking good care of your Windows is paramount to their longevity! Every 5 to 8 years check over your Windows and if they need attention ie. rubbing down and painting arrange to have this done as soon as possible. By looking after your Windows with maintenance approximately every 5 years you can expect them to last 60 years or more.
Do your replacement Wood Windows add value to my property ?
Yes! Without a doubt by installing Traditional Double Glazed Timber Windows you are adding more value to your property than the cost of the Window replacement project!
Can you change just the Sliding Sashes for Double Glazed Sashes ?
If you currently have Single Glazed Sash Windows we can change just the Sashes to literally all Box Sash Windows. We can even use Extra Slim Double Glazed Sash units which comply with all current building regulations.
Can you match the Style of the existing Windows ?
All of our Double Glazed Sash, Casement Windows and Doors are made to Traditional designs to match existing Single Glazed patterns.
Will I need scaffolding erected during the Window installation ?
Generally most installations Do Not require scaffolding. Sash Windows are fitted from the inside of the property and can be fitted without the need for costly scaffolding.
Is fitting Wood Windows much more expensive than fitting UPVC ?
Fitting Wood Windows is initially more expensive than UPVC as the manufacturing process is much more labour intensive. But you must ask yourself: 'Do I want to devalue my property using cheap crude uPVC windows?' or 'Do I want to Add Value and enhance the Look of my Property by installing Traditional Timber Windows?
Do you Offer Different Types of Glass for your Windows and Doors ?
We offer many different types of Glass from Acoustic Glass options to Extra Slim Double Glazed units that still comply with current building regulations. Please ask us regarding your specific Glazing needs.
What Timber do you Use ?
In most cases we use Joinery Grade European Redwood. But all of our Products can be made in a choice of Hardwoods. Contact Us with your Material specifications and requirements.
Can we have our Windows Treated with a Preservative ?
We can supply your Windows Pressure Treated with Protim Preservative. Protim Organic Solvent Pressure Treatment protects your Windows against Rot and Fungus infestation and comes with a 25 Year Guarantee. We also offer many other Quality Finishes and Treatments, please Email Us your Finish specifications.
Are your Windows Child Friendly ?
We can include Child Restrictors to our whole Range of Windows as required.
I would like to Replace my Windows, How Long will it Take ?
Usually a project will take 5 to 8 weeks in total from the date of order. This time period includes the Manufacture of your made to measure Window units and the Fitting of your Windows.
Do you require a Deposit ?
We generally request a 50% Deposit with Order and the balance paid on Satisfactory Completion. On larger projects we can Stage Payments for the work.
Do you Repair any Damage to Plasterwork after installation ?
We take the upmost Care not to damage any internal Plasterwork, but if there is any loose or damaged Plasterwork this will be Repaired after the Installation of your Windows as part of our Service.
Do your New Double Glazed Windows comply with Building Regulations ?
All of our New Windows and Doors are fully compliant with Document L Building Regulations.
Can you Replace Broken Spiral Balancers or Springs to existing Windows ?
We can Supply and Install New Spiral Balancers or Springs to your Existing Windows if required. Please see our Sash Window Restoration Services page.
Can you Replace Broken Sash Window Cords ?
We can Replace your Broken Sash Cords for you and we Always Replace all Sash Cords when Renovating Existing Box Sash Windows. Please see our Sash Window Restoration Services page.
What areas of the United Kingdom do you Cover ?
For Manufacture and Supply only Orders we cover the whole of the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland and can also Supply to the Republic of Ireland. If we are Supplying and Fitting your Windows we are restricted to London, Essex and surrounding Counties. But if your Project is Large enough We are willing to Travel Long Distances so please Contact Us for a Free Quote for Windows in your area.
